THE PURPOSE OF THE COMPETITION
To contribute to the professional development of young Canadian musicians under the age of 19 years.
To enable young musicians to compete for the unique opportunity to perform with the Toronto Sinfonietta, a professional orchestra, at the Gala Concert.
TORONTO SINFONIETTA CONCERTO COMPETITION IS AN ANNUAL EVENT
THE JURY consists of prominent Toronto musicians and leading members of Toronto Sinfonietta:
Walter Buczynski, one of Canadas most prolific and performed composers
Norbert Palej, a composer who generates visceral excitement (The Boston Globe) and University of Toronto professor
Bronson Kwan, Toronto Sinfonietta concertmaster and former Royal Conservatory faculty member
Alex Kats, pianist and teacher
Matthew Jaskiewicz, Toronto Sinfonietta music director and artistic director of the Competition
